“Lord, make my way prosperous not that I achieve high station, but that my life may be an exhibit to the value of knowing God.” Jim Elliot

On the Baseline

In 2005, I started On the Baseline Tennis News, a site focused exclusively on professional women’s tennis news. Just a simple blog started on a whim, I had no idea that it would grow into one of the most visited and respected women’s tennis news websites in the world.

Running On the Baseline was one of the biggest learning opportunities of my life, and I am so grateful to God for the many lessons He taught me through it. Over the course of five years I had the opportunity to cover many of tennis’ biggest events, including the US Open, the BNP Paribas Open, and the Sony Ericsson Open. I had the privilege of working with and interviewing many of the most successful women’s players of this generation including world number one players Venus & Serena Williams, Lindsay Davenport, Justine Henin, Martina Hingis, Liezel Huber, and Ana Ivanovic.

Before I sold the site in 2010, On the Baseline had been quoted in The New York Times, Yahoo Sports, Reuters, India Times, Guardian Unlimited, Scotsman, Fox Sports Australia, Sydney Morning Herald, and dozens of other mainstream media and Internet publications.

“Every experience God gives us, every person He puts in our lives, is the perfect preparation for the future that only He can see.” Corrie ten Boom

Microsoft Office

Make it Great AdvertisementOne of the unexpected blessings which stemmed from my work with On the Baseline was an opportunity to collaborate with Microsoft and its real-life stories campaign.

Since 2009, I’ve had the pleasure of using the Office 2010 & 2013 software, participate in a photo & video shoot for the Office advertising campaign, give press interviews, speak at the Office 2010 Launch Event in New York City, collaborate with Melanie for a presentation at a Microsoft training event in Nevada, and most recently in 2012, participate in the launch of Office 2013 in San Francisco. The “Make it Great” ads were displayed online and in print magazines and newspapers such as USA Today, Martha Stewart Living, Family Fun, Entrepreneur, Money, and Time.
