Snow fell in Houston today, and not just snow flurries. By around 8:00 pm, it was a full-fledged Texas-sized blizzard.
Everything is bigger in Texas, except for snow storms. Normal size is a sleet and flurry mix. And that’s only about once every five years.
But today, December 10, 2008, we got a Texas-sized blizzard in Houston. I have lived in the Lone Star State for nearly sixteen years and this was the most snow I have ever seen down south.
I am accustomed to seeing snow—real snow—after living in New Jersey for five years and more recently, Oklahoma for two years where I experienced first hand cabin fever during the winter.
The sight of a true winter wonderland is amazing, but today, it was so special to see Houston covered in a thin, ever so thin layer of white magnificence. Christmas is just around the corner. God is good.

It was awesome! Now, if we could just get it to snow in Arizona (and not in the mountains!) That would be quite the birthday present!!! We love you!
Nope :) Dad and I went outside and picked them all before the second (and bigger) round of snow hit last night. We thought we only had about twelve left on the tree, but came back in with twenty.
The only bad part about it was that when you went to pull one down from over your head, the minute it snapped off the tree, you got sprayed with an icy water bath in the face!
