Although I am a self-professed news junkie, I generally avoid watching the nightly news. Perhaps it is because I am accustomed to consuming large amounts of news at a fast pace, as I scan headlines for tidbits and speed read through articles.

Instead with the evening news, I am forced to endure about thirty minutes of stories, sandwiched between another thirty minutes of commercials for products that I am not remotely interested in purchasing, like the osteoporosis medicine which says you could die from a stroke or the “free” credit report that is anything but free.

But on Friday evenings, I love watching Steve Hartman’s Assignment America on CBS. He has quickly become one of my favorite reporters and if he ever gets his own news show on one of the cable networks, I will gladly plow through the commercials every day.

Tonight’s assignment was a tough one–and a topic I have often wondered about. When asking someone if your baby is cute, how do you know that they are really telling you the truth?

LOL - I'm sure your baby will be 100% genuinely cute!

Thats funny!! I don't think that baby was that cute, or any of the others but I agree, I would never say that to the parents! Isn't that crazy? I will remember that in a few months. :)
