Concerned about your unsaved friends and family who might be left behind in the event of the rapture? For forty dollars a year, you can send them a prewritten, post-rapture letter after your timely disappearance.
While this initially sounds like a scam, it is the actual brainchild of Mark Heard, a forty-nine year-old supermarket clerk, according to ABC News.
The website’s purpose is simple:
You’ve Been Left Behind gives you one last opportunity to reach your lost family and friends For Christ. Imagine being in the presence of the Lord and hearing all of heaven rejoice over the salvation of your loved ones. It is our prayer that this site makes it happen.
You can upload your documents to their server, which will send your files six days after the rapture. Obviously, because the service is run by Christians, the company has enacted a fail-safe policy because its employees will not be around to hit the send button. If three of the company’s five employees do not log-in for five days, the system will automatically start sending emails.
While I can guarantee I will not be subscribing to their service, I find it hard to completely blast the idea. After all, was it not the Apostle Paul who said, “. . . whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice.”
Still, I am inclined to agree with Suzanne Hadley at Boundless—it is a far better approach to witness to your loved ones now, instead of spending $40.00 a year for a machine to do it once you are gone.
